The Two People Behind BrandCast
Two engineers, a few decades of experience between us, now focused on making digital signage work the way small businesses need it to.
How we split the work
BrandCast is two people with two jobs. Jamie works on the application — the part you see and use. Chris works on the platform underneath — the part that needs to be fast, secure, and online.
Both jobs matter. We try to give each one its full attention.

Jamie
Builds the product you actually use.
Jamie and his wife run a small retail franchise in North Carolina. The digital signage they could buy was expensive, hard to use, or both — so he started writing his own. That's where BrandCast came from.
His background is in making complicated systems easier to use. Red Hat, then VMware, and the past six years at Google Cloud.
He's self-taught and started college as a history major. He thinks how you got to the work matters less than the work itself.
Chris
Keeps it happy, healthy, and secure.
Chris joined BrandCast as it grew past the point one person could carry it alone. His focus is everything you shouldn't have to think about: the infrastructure, the security, the deploys, the monitoring — the parts that need to just work so a screen comes on when it's supposed to.
He came to BrandCast from Rancher, where he worked on Kubernetes infrastructure. Before that, Red Hat. Before that, the federal government.
He'd rather sit with a broken thing for an hour than half-fix it in ten minutes. Digital signage has plenty of broken things to sit with, and that suits him.

Why this matters for you
We're two engineers who decided to build the whole thing ourselves — the application and the platform underneath it. When something breaks, one of us wrote it. When something gets fixed, one of us fixed it. That's the version of BrandCast we want to run.
